The resource looting mechanics can use some rework. Levels can get repetitive as there is very little randomization. All in all, it's a fun game with relatively complex mechanics.I enjoy this as it reminds me of playing one of those side scrolling classic iMac games. But it offers players a satisfying experience, particularly to those who are already familiar with this genre. Rogue Adventure is a good 'deck builder roguelike' without much need for jaw-dropping graphics. Meanwhile, you can preemptively respond to your enemies next turn alignment to gain the upperhand. When it's your turn keep in mind that you only have 3 mana points and each card costs you a bit of mana, so you'll need to deal them out strategically. Likewise, from time to time you'll need to throw out the weaker cards in your deck.Ĭombat systems in Rogue Adventure are identical to Slay the Spire and other spin-off games. Win during combat and you'll come out unscathed and with new cards as rewards. Starting out with a basic series of cards, including a couple of attacks and defense elements, it's up to you to make your way through the dungeon. One of the main elements in Rogue Adventure is how your deck is built. Your final objective? Destroy the evil boss that's awaiting you at the end of the tunnel. Players crawl their way through a dungeon teeming with enemies and treasure. Rogue Adventure is a 'deck builder roguelike' cleanly styled after Slay the Spire.
